Where are your foods made? Every single shelf stable Indian food I have seen on store shelves is “Imported”.
All our foods are prepared and packaged in our facility in Philadelphia, not Imported. Our ‘Organic Beans’ are grown in the USA, but our raw Basmati Rice is imported from India and is the very best. That quality rice does not grow anywhere else!

Why are Jyoti’s organic beans packaged in pouches instead of cans?
For perfect beans with the convenience of a pouches. Pouches allow beans to swell in the pouch as they are being cooked and sterilized, without mushing, as the pouch swells. Cans do not offer that freedom to swelling beans, which mush against each other and against the metal can.
How are your beans cleaned?
All beans packed by JYOTI, are cleaned via the worlds most advanced bean cleaning technology, SHRI Technology, invented at JYOTI, licensed worldwide, most recently to HORMEL FOODS, USA. The basic concept of Shri technology is very simple. When a load of beans containing foreign materials are dropped into water, heavier pieces such as stones sink to the bottom. Good beans sink slowly but also get to the bottom. Floating debris such as woody stems, pods, leaves, and loose skins float to the surface of the water. SHRI Technology utilizes these differences in the buoyancy of different particles to separate those. To learn more, visit our Bean Cleaning Technology page.
